THE BRONX — They serve 12 pregnant women who are homeless and 13 children in the Bronx, and their only van doesn't work, so Good Counsel asked PIX11 News for help.

"I just had my baby girl, and I have so many doctor appointments. It would help to have a ride," said Kristina Hargrove, the proud new mom of a healthy girl named Dakota.

Good Counsel is an organization that helps homeless pregnant women and mothers who need a hand getting back on their feet.

"We are hoping someone will see this story and will give," said Chris Bell, the director of Good Counsel.

Tameika Davis is their the case manager, and described a close call recently.

"We were taking a new mom and her baby home for the first time and the van broke down on the highway. You know that is an important moment for any mom and it turned scary," said Davis.
