NEW YORK – National Voter Registration Day will be taking place across New York and the country.

Six million Americans didn't vote in 2008 because they missed a registration deadline. And while people can express their opinions online and in the streets -- on Tuesday, November 8 what people will do in the voting booth will elect our next president.

The deadline to register is October 14 if you want to vote in this upcoming general election.

Most events throughout New York City encouraging people to register will start by 7 a.m. Tuesday. Check this map for an event close to where you live.

To register online, please visit the National Voter Registration Day website to fill out the appropriate form.
