THE BRONX — Families in the Wakefield section of the Bronx say auto body shops are taking over their sidewalks and streets, and asked PIX11 News for help.

Several cars were parked on the sidewalk and street Tuesday outside Collision Specialists on White Plains Road and 240th Street.

"The streets are made for cars. Where are we going to park our cars? Give me a parking garage then," a lead mechanic named Basil said.

PIX11 News saw cars parked on the sidewalk outside J and B Body Works on East 242nd Street.

"I would like my sidewalk back," resident Deborah Carter said as she walked in the street to maneuver around the vehicles.

PIX11 News spoke to the owner of J and B Works, and he immediately promised to move the cars off the sidewalk.
