NEWARK, N.J. – Authorities are investigating the death of an infant in Newark early Tuesday.

NJ.com reported that authorities are looking into what may have led to the death of the 2-month-old baby, who identity or gender have not been released.

Essex County Prosecutor’s office spokesperson Katherine Carter told NJ.com police received a medical call after the baby was found unresponsive.

The cause and manner of the baby’s death will be determined by autopsy.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed they are investigating at 211 Chadwick Ave. The apartment was taped off earlier this morning.
