NEW YORK CITY -- It was 20 years ago when Bill Bratton first walked away from the NYPD as its commissioner.

He did so again on Friday, but this time it was on his terms.

There is no doubt that as he exits for a second time, Commissioner Bratton does so as arguably the nation's most respected and decorated Commissioner in the history of local law enforcement.
