SOHO, Manhattan — Five firefighters were hurt in a multi-alarm fire on the roof of a SoHo apartment.

The fire broke out around 8 p.m. Tuesday at 51 Greene St. It quickly grew to two-alarms.

Roughly 30 minutes later, a third alarm was issued to provide relief for firefighters already on the scene.

By 8:50 p.m., the fire had been knocked down.

Several photos uploaded to social media showed thick, black clouds of smoke filling the sky.

The injuries to firemen are considered minor, according to FDNY.

The fire did not spread to any surrounding buildings.
