Motorcycle rider dies after colliding with car on Bruckner Expressway: police

CASTLE HILL, Bronx — A motorcyclist died over the weekend when he fell off his bike on the Bruckner Expressway after hitting a car, police said.

Officials say that the 48-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx on Sunday night when the collision occurred.

The cyclist was riding on the expressway when he hit a white Chrysler traveling in the same direction near the Whitestone Bridge exit, losing control and falling off his motorcycle, police said.

First responders transported the 48-year-old man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

NYPD has not yet released the name of the 48-year-old man killed.

No arrests have been made in connection with incident.
