FLATBUSH, Brooklyn — A teenager has been arrested for allegedly fatally shooting a father in front of a Brooklyn elementary school when the dad confronted him about his son’s stolen Oakland Raiders baseball cap, law enforcement said Thursday.

Gerald Cummings, 38, was shot in the head and back the night of Aug. 4 outside P.S. 6, Norma Adams Clemons Academy, according to police sources.

Back on July 30, Cummings’ son said he was playing basketball in a schoolyard when a group of males stole his hat.

Days later the father spotted someone wearing the same cap and confronted him, police said at the time.

The male then pulled a gun out of his backpack and gunned down Cummings, according to police.

Law enforcement officials on Thursday would only confirm a teenager was arrested on suspicion of killing the father.

The alleged shooter was arrested by the Regional Fugitive Task Force.
