BUSHWICK, Brooklyn – Police have arrested a registered sex offender accused of raping and robbing a woman at knifepoint in Brooklyn earlier this week.

The victim, 27, was in the vicinity of Dekalb and Bushwick Avenues on her way home at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday when she was approached by Michael Mann, 52, who displayed a knife, police said. He demanded her property and then sexually assaulted her, according to the NYPD.

Before running away Mann allegedly told the victim he’d seen her in the past and if she reported the incident to police he’d kill her, police sources said.

The attacker fled, heading west on Dekalb Avenue toward Bushwick Avenue. He was apprehended by police Wednesday.

The NYPD said Mann faces an array of charges, including rape, robbery and menacing. Mann was also charged with various sex offender-related violations, according to police.
