Pedestrian fatally struck by livery cab in Staten Island

GRYMES HILL, Staten Island — A man hit by a livery cab near the Staten Island Expressway early Wednesday died from his injuries, police said.

The pedestrian, who was in his 30’s, was crossing on the service road of the Expressway at Narrows Road North and Clove Road around 4:50 a.m. when he was hit by a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria, police said.

Paramedics rushed the man to Staten Island University North Hospital, but the victim did not survive, police said. The victim’s name has not yet been released.

The livery cab driver stayed at the scene of the incident, police said. There have been no arrests.
