Man, 29, fatally struck by car in Queens

ST. ALBANS, Queens — A 29-year-old man was fatally struck by a car Tuesday night, police said.

William Wine, a Jamaica resident, was hit by a 2001 Honda Accord around 10:40 p.m. after he jumped into traffic on Merrick Boulevard from the raised concrete median separating lanes police said. He had severe trauma to his head and body and died at the scene.

The 28-year-old driver remained at the scene, police said. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
