UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan — A woman out walking her dog early last Friday fought off a man trying to grope her, police said.

The suspect approached the woman, 48, around 5:20 a.m. when she was out walking her dog in Riverside Park, police said. He asked her for the time and then put her in a headlock.

She hit him in the groin, police said. He released her, but then put her in another headlock and tried to kiss her. She bit him on the lips and he let go of her before running away.

The suspect is being described as 20-30 years old with a medium complexion, muscular build, short brown curly hair and brown eyes, police said. He was last seen in a gray shirt, khaki shorts and white sneakers.

Police are asking for help identifying the suspect.
