MANHATTAN — Smoke filled the air across Lower Manhattan after an explosion rocked a historic building causing a fire on the roof Monday evening.
The blaze broke out just after 7:30 p.m. at the Germania Bank building at Bowery and Spring Street.
Th building, a former bank location, now houses private residences.
The fire was knocked down a short time later.
No injuries were reported.
