WOODMERE, N.Y. — Nassau County police have released a sketch of a cop impersonator who they say pulled over a driver in Woodmere and robbed him, police said.

The victim was driving north on Broadway on Monday about 3:45 p.m. when he saw a black Jeep behind him. The Jeep flashed red lights at the victim’s car and the victim pulled over, according to police.

A man got out of the Jeep, told the victim he was a police officer and forced the victim to get out of his car and place his belongings on the trunk of his car.

The victim complied and then the man took the victim’s wallet with an unknown amount of cash. The man then told the victim to get back in his car, according to police.

The victim then saw the man get back in the Jeep, make a U-turn and flee southbound on Broadway.

Police said the man is described as being in his 30s and around 6 feet tall.
