DALLAS — Actor Cuba Gooding Jr. told TMZ he cried after realizing that he met and snapped a photo with one of the officers killed at a Dallas protest.

“I cried today when I heard that,” he said. “I cried.”

Patrick Zamarripa shared the photo on his Twitter page on February 25, thanking Gooding Jr. for taking the photo with him and his partner.

“The great @cubagoodingjr . Thanx for taking the pic with my partner and I. Hope your stay in #Dallas was great sir!” the 32-year-old Navy veteran and father captioned the photo.

Zamarripa was one of five officers killed during an attack at a Dallas protest. Seven other officers were injured.

The violence erupted during a protest organized in outrage over black men Alton Sterling, 37, of Louisiana, and Philando Castile, 32, of Minnesota, who were shot and killed by police earlier this week.

Suspect gunman Micah Johnson, a former Army reservist, told cops he “wanted to kill white people.” He was killed during a standoff with police.
