14 injured after FDNY truck crashes into MTA bus in Astoria

ASTORIA, Queens — Fourteen people, including two firefighters, were injured when a FDNY truck heading to the scene of a fire crashed into a MTA bus in Astoria Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened at 12:21 p.m., according to the FDNY. The 312 Fire Engine was heading to the scene of a fire at 8-01 26th Ave when it collided with bus between Ditmars Boulevard and 21st Street.

The victims were taken to area hospitals. The FDNY says the victims sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated.
