Subway changes for the weekend in NYC

Each weekend brings a new set of subway service changes that could impact how and when you travel around the city. Read on to find out what major schedule changes are taking place this weekend.

Manhattan:

-There will be not be any 1 trains between 14 St and South Ferry from 11:30 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m Monday.  For 28, 23, 18, Christopher, Houston, Canal, Franklin and Chambers St stations, take the 2 or 3 train.

-3 trains will be local in both directions between 34 St. Penn Station and Chambers Street from 11:30 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m Monday. Allow additional travel time.

-4 trains will run local in both directions between 125 St and Brooklyn Bridge from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m Monday. Allow additional travel time.

-6 trains heading to Pelham Bay will skip Astor Place from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.  For service to this station, take the 6 to 14 St-Union Sq and transfer to a downtown 4  local or 6.  For service from this station, take the 4 or 6 to Bleecker St and transfer to a Pelham Bay Park-bound 6.

-There will not be any A or C trains stopping at Spring, Canal, Chambers, Fulton and High Streets from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m Monday.  For Spring, Canal and Chamber, take the E train. For Fulton Street, take the J and transfer between trains at the Delancey St/Essex St. F station, or use the World Trade Center E station. For High St, use the York St F station instead.

Brooklyn:

-There will not be any 4 trains between Brooklyn Bridge and Utica Ave/New Lots Ave from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m Monday. 2, 3, D, J, N, Q, R trains will provide service.

-A trains will run on the F line between W 4 St and Jay St-Metrotech from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m Monday. E and J trains will provide alternate service.

-No A trains will run between Rockaway Blvd and Lefferts Blvd. from 12:01 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday. A free shuttle bus will provide service.

-Euclid Av-bound C trains will skip 135, 116, 110, 103, 96, 86, 81 and 72 St stations all weekend. For service to these stations, take the C to 125 St or 59 St-Columbus Circle and transfer to a 168 St-bound C.  For service from these stations, take the C to 125 St or 145 St and transfer to a Euclid Av-bound C.

-Coney Island-bound D trains will run via the N line from 36 St to Stillwell Av from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 10 p.m. Sunday. For service to 9 Av, Fort Hamilton Pkwy, 50 and 55 Sts, take the D to New Utrecht Av-62 St and transfer to a Norwood-bound D. For service to 71, 79 Sts, 18, 20 Avs, Bay Pkwy, 25 Av and Bay 50 St, take the D to Stillwell Av and transfer to a Norwood-bound D. For service from these stations, take the D to 62 St-New Utrecht Av or 36 St and transfer to a Coney Island-bound D.

-There is no Coney Island-bound service at 9 Av, Fort Hamilton Pkwy, 50, 55, 71, 79 Sts, 18, 20 Avs, Bay Pkwy, 25 Av and Bay 50 St.

Queens:

-Jamaica-bound E trains will run express from 21 St-Queensbridge to 71 Av from 12:15 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.  Trains will stop at Roosevelt Av.
For service to 36, Steinway, 46 Sts, Northern Blvd and 65 St, take the E to Roosevelt Av and transfer to a Manhattan-bound E or F. For service to Elmhurst, Grand Avs, Woodhaven Blvd, 63 Dr and 67 Av, take the E to 71 Av and transfer to a Manhattan-bound E or F. For service from these stations, take the E or F to Roosevelt Av or 21 St-Queensbridge and transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E.

-E trains will run via the F line in both directions between W 4 St and 21 St-Queensbridge from 11:45 p.m Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

There is no E service at Queens Plaza, Court Sq-23 St, Lexington Av/53 St, 5 Av/53 St, 7 Av, 50 St, 42 St/Port Authority, 34 St-Penn Station, 23 St and 14 St. Free shuttle buses operate between Court Sq-23 St and 21 St-Queensbridge, stopping at Queens Plaza.

-World Trade Center bound E trains will run local in Queens from 12:01 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.  Trains will stop at 67 Av, 63 Dr, Woodhaven Blvd, Grand, Elmhurst, Roosevelt Avs, 65 St, Northern Blvd, 46, Steinway and 36 Sts.

-Forest Hills bound R trains will run express from Queens Plaza to 71 Av all weekend. For service to 36, Steinway, 46 Sts, Northern Blvd and 65 St, take the R to Roosevelt Av and transfer to a Manhattan-bound E, F or R. For service from these stations, take the R to Queens Plaza and transfer to a Forest Hills-bound R.
For service to Elmhurst, Grand Avs, Woodhaven Blvd, 63 Dr and 67 Av, take the R to 71 Av and transfer to a Manhattan-bound E, F or R.
For service from these stations, take the E, F or R to Roosevelt Av and transfer to a Forest Hills-bound R.
