FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Actress Vanessa Hudgens has agreed to pay $1,000 for carving into the red rock in Sedona around Valentine’s Day.

Volunteers and U.S. Forest Service employees found the carving around Feb. 23 on a geologic formation known as Bell Rock. The area is popular with tourists.

The $1,000 in restitution resolves a misdemeanor citation against Hudgens. A volunteer group called Friends of the Forest will use the money to restore the rock wall.

A publicist for Hudgens did not immediately respond to a message left Friday.
