Workers seen hanging outside Lower Manhattan building rescued, evaluated

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, Manhattan - Workers who were hanging from a platform outside a building in Manhattan’s Financial District on Tuesday for at least 25 minutes were rescued and being evaluated.

Reports of people hanging at 33 Maiden Lane had been made, EMS officials confirmed around 10:05 a.m.

Video showed the workers being rescued around 10:30 a.m., and EMS officials said they appeared uninjured but were being evaluated.

Multiple emergency crews responded to the scene, where video showed the workers appeared to be hanging more than 10 stories up.
