Pedestrian dead following collision on Bronx River Parkway

THE BRONX – A man crossing the Bronx River Parkway was struck and killed by a livery cab driver late Monday.

The collision happened near Exit 6 (Boston Road) minutes after 11 p.m., police said.

Upon arrival, police found the victim lying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene.

A preliminary investigation found the victim was trying to cross the parkway when the car going southbound hit him.

The 39-year-old driver remained at the scene.

The victim, who appears to be in his 50s, has not been identified yet.

The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD’s Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
