Surveillance video released of suspects wanted in fatal Brooklyn hit-and-run

CANARSIE, Brooklyn — Police are searching for three suspects wanted for fleeing the scene of a deadly car crash in Canarsie Sunday afternoon.

The suspects allegedly stole an SUV and was driving when they lost control, crashed into another car and two pedestrians walking on the sidewalk at the intersection of East 94th Street and Avenue K around 12:49 p.m., police said. The suspects then fled the scene.

The woman, later identified as 51-year-old Chooi Tan, and another man was taken to the hospital. Tan later died in the hospital, police said. The man is in stable condition. The 20-year-old driver of the other car struck was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators said the SUV involved in the crash was reported stolen on Friday. They released video and photographs of three suspects in connection to the hit-and run.

The suspects are described as men between 15 to 20 years old.
