Passenger robs MTA bus driver’s hat, punches him in face: police

THE BRONX – Police said a passenger punched a MTA bus driver’s face multiple times after robbing his hat.

The NYPD said the 47-year-old driver stopped the bus at Kingsbridge Terrace and West Kingsbridge Road around 7:15 p.m. to assist a handicapped passenger, when he got into an argument with another passenger. During the course of the dispute, the man took his MTA hat and began to flee the bus, police said. The victim attempted to retrieve his hat but was punched by the man several times.

The man who appears to be between 25 to 35-years-old fled from the scene, police said. The victim refused medical attention.
