Woman arrested in brutal robbery of 103-year-old in the Bronx: police

CO-OP CITY, The Bronx — NYPD have arrested a woman involved in a brutal robbery of a 103-year-old in the victim's Bronx apartment building.

Sharon McNeil, 53, was arrested and charged with robbery, assault, and harassment 11 a.m. Saturday, police said.

On Friday at 2:30, McNeil followed Louise Signore, 103, into the elevator of her building on Bellamy Loop, police said.

They took the elevator up together to the Signore's floor and McNeil followed her into the hallway, police said.

McNeil knocked Signore to the floor and took her shopping cart carrying two meals she got from the community center and purse containing an undetermined amount of money, credit cards and identification, police said.

McNeil fled the scene. EMS responded but Signore refused medical assistance.
