PATERSON, N.J. — A Paterson man has been indicted for killing a 16-year-old on a bike in a hit-and-run.

On August 10 2015, at 6:54 p.m., James Reinhardt, 34, of Paterson was driving a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta north on Beech Street, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

At the intersection of Beech and Oak Street, Reinhardt hit a bicyclist, 16, the Prosecutor’s Office said.

Less than an hour later, the bicyclist was pronounced dead.

On Tuesday, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office indicted Reinhardt for knowingly leaving scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident, endangering an injured victim and causing death while driving on a suspended license.
