Mother accused of burning toddler by putting child in oven

GLEN ROSE, Texas -- A Texas woman was arrested Thursday after police say she put her 2-year-old child in the oven.

Tasha Shontell Hatcher, 35, of Glen Rose, is charged with injury to a child.

According to the Glen Rose Reporter, the toddler suffered second and third degree when Hatcher put the child in the oven, witnesses say.

Authorities say the child was transported to the Parkland Burn Center in Dallas where he's reportedly in stable condition. She has been taken into protective custody.

According to Hatcher’s Facebook, the single mother works at Quality Inn and Suites and StoneWater Church in Glen Rose.

Hatcher's bond was set at $300,000.
