QUEENS – A New York woman and a girl from East Orange, New Jersey, who disappeared together on Wednesday, was found a day later, East Orange mayor’s office reported.
The two were found safe in Queens around 4.45 p.m. Thursday, the mayor’s office wrote on Facebook.
Flora Roach-Premnauth, 64, of Schenectedy, and 8-year-old Kayla Smith were last seen when the woman picked up Smith at 179 North Maple Ave. around 10 a.m.
Roach-Premnauth, who is a friend of Smith’s family, was driving a black, four-door Cadillac Deville with the New York license plate GMX-6056.
Police pinged Roach Premnauth’s phone and found the last known location was Terminal 4 at JFK International Airport, where they had apparently gone to pick up Smith’s mother. Although it hasn’t been officially diagnosed, Roach-Premnauth may suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, East Orange Mayor’s Office PIO Connie Jackson.
