Two women shot, one fatally, in Far Rockaway; shooter on the run

FAR ROCKAWAY, Queens — A search is underway for a 29-year-old man accused of shooting two women, killing one in Far Rockaway Wednesday afternoon.

Police released a photo Wednesday evening of Tyquan Long, 29, who is wanted in connection with the shooting.

Police responded to a reports of shots fired at an apartment building located at 333 Beach 32nd St. just before 1 p.m.

Police found one woman, 36, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. EMS says she was pronounced dead at the scene.  The victim's mother says her daughter was engaged to the suspect for the last five years.

The other victim, who was waiting for a delivery in the lobby, was shot in the hand. She was taken to St. Johns University Hospital in stable condition. She is now working with police to find Long.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, the NYPD said.
