Helicopter makes emergency landing in Long Island neighborhood

COPIAGUE, Long Island — A helicopter made an emergency landing in the middle of a residential street on Long Island Wednesday, authorities said.

It happened just before noon near Buena Vista Boulevard and East Alhambra Avenue on the border between Copiague and Lindenhurst, officials said.

The Robinson R22 helicopter reported having engine problems, according to the FAA, which is investigating the incident.

According to the FAA’s aircraft registry, the helicopter belongs to November Alpha LLC based in Los Angeles.

There was no immediate word on how many people were on board or of injuries.
