THE BRONX – A new photo was released Wednesday showing the getaway car used by a well-dressed man who robbed an armored  truck at gunpoint in the Bronx and made off with a bag of cash.

NYPD Chief Robert Boyce said the culprit made off with $78,000 and may be connected to a similar stick-up on another armored vehicle a week ago.

Boyce called it “a Christmas miracle” that the man escaped the scene.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, a man wearing a suit approached the driver of an armored car as he was making a cash pick-up at 1471 Westchester Ave. in the Bronx, police said. The culprit pulled out a gun and demanded cash, grabbing a bag of money from the 51-year-old courier.

He then jumped into a four-door Honda Accord with tinted windows and drove away, police said.

Anyone with information in the case is urged to call NYPD’s anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
