After her mother passed away, Wendy Strauss found her request to continue the family tradition of filling a Christmas stocking.

But instead of doing it for their mother, she and her sisters were asked to give it to a woman in need.

Nine years later, that request has grown to hundreds of stockings donated to Women in Need of New York City.

Wendy’s story is also inspiring others across the nation, as it was included in “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Merry Christmas.”

All of the proceeds she receives from the book go back into her stocking mission. She is also accepting donations via Pay Pal: moms.stocking@gmail.com
