SPRINGFIELD GARDENS, Queens – An off-duty NYPD cop shot and killed one of two robbers during a Craigslist scam in Queens, police said.

The unidentified officer responded to an ad for a White BMW for sale and had arranged to meet the seller at Guy R. Brewer Boulevard and 145th Avenue in Springfield Gardens, Queens, police said.

Two men arrived and showed the officer the car, they went “back and forth” about the price, before one of the men pulled out a black handgun and aimed it at the officer.

The cop pulled out his own weapon and fired several rounds at the suspect around 10:35 p.m., police said.

The suspect, identified as Devon Holder, was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Holder's father, Dave, spoke exclusively with PIX11 News Tuesday evening.

"I know my son, the story is not adding up I want a full investigation and then I can swallow this," Dave Holder said.

Holder leaves behind a wife and four children.

Police were looking for the other suspect and checking local hospitals for gunshot victims.

The cop told responding officers the suspect stole his wallet, police said.

Cops recovered the suspect's black pt-85 blowback air pistol at the scene.
