FRESH MEADOWS, Queens — One person is dead and two others are injured after a car and bus collided in Queens Monday night.

The 44-year-old operator of the MTA bus was removed to Elmhurst General Hospital with minor injuries, and a 64-year-old woman on the bus was removed to Queens General Hospital with minor injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Ford was traveling westbound on Union Turnpike, when it did veer counter-flow onto the eastbound lanes and struck the bus head-on which was traveling eastbound on the right lane on Union Turnpike – approximately feet east of East 174th Street.
