ATLANTA — Refrains of “Oh my god” and “let’s get out of here” were heard at a Georgia Walmart as tensions ran high among Black Friday shoppers who broke out into a brawl.
It happened at a Walmart in Dunwoody, Ga., about 20 miles north of Atlanta.
Shoppers there scrambled to get their hands on merchandise from a display and that’s when they became physical. It was not immediately known if any arrests were made.
In a cheeky Facebook post, the Dunwoody Police Department commented on the chaos. The department said there were nearly a dozen officers patrolling the store and its parking lot for one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
“Ok there’s ten Dunwoody police officers in Walmart with ten police cars parked out front for black Friday but you know SOMEBODY has to shoplift anyway,” the post read.
“Well he’ll be spending Thanksgiving night in Dekalb County Jail. No turkey and dressing for him tonight…. more like a bologna sandwich and water. (AS)”
