Former Knicks draft pick Michael Wright found dead inside car in Brooklyn: police

BROOKLYN — Former New York Knicks draft pick Michael Wright was found dead in the backseat of his Lexus SUV, officials confirmed.

The 35-year-old basketball player was unconscious and unresponsive when police found him on Tuesday. His body was covered in trash bags. Police have ruled his death a homicide.

Wright was reported missing last Thursday around 1 p.m. from his house in Closter, New Jersey.

Wright played for the Arizona Wildcats and was later drafted by the Knicks in 2001. He played professionally overseas in Israel, Poland, Turkey, France and Germany.

The investigation is ongoing.
