Police searching for suspect who robbed woman in lobby of Coney Island building

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn — The NYPD is searching for the suspect who robbed a 40-year-old woman Sunday in Coney Island.

The man approached the victim in the lobby of 2960 W 31st St. and asked her to open the door. He then pushed her against the wall and stole her purse, which contained her wallet, credit cards, iPhone and other personal items, police said.

The victim was not injured.

Police describe the suspect as a black man in his 20s, about 6-foot-1-inches and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, baseball hat, blue jeans and sneakers.
