One dead after fire breaks out in Poughkeepsie home

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – One person was killed in a fire that ripped through a house late Monday night.

The fire started around 11 p.m. at 10 McKinley Lane in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

Firefighters found a lone occupant unconscious in the home.

The person was taken to Mid Hudson Regional Hospital where the victim was pronounced dead.

The fire is under investigation by the fire investigation unit.

There was no further information on the victim.
