NEW YORK — After a whirlwind week of street closures and frozen zones spurred by Pope Francis’ inaugural visit to the Big Apple, commuters will have to wait a bit longer before the city returns to normal.
World leaders are gathering in Manhattan for the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly and Monday’s speech from President Barack Obama promises to spark even more gridlock in midtown.
Street closures in effect Monday are as follows:
- First Avenue from 42nd to 48th streets
- 42nd Street from FDR Drive to Second Avenue
- 43rd to 46th streets between First and Second avenues
