BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn — A 19-year-old man has died after a wall collapsed on construction workers in Brooklyn Thursday, sending a trio to the hospital with serious injuries, fire officials said.
The collapse happened about 11:30 a.m. at a construction site at 656 Myrtle Ave.
Eight workers were at the site when a rear retaining wall crumbled on top of them, FDNY said.
Officials say the 19-year-old, who has not been identified, was was transported to Brooklyn Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Two other workers were taken to a hospital in stable condition, police say.
The remaining five were hurt but were not to taken to a hospital, the fire department spokesman said.
Firefighters sifted through cinder blocks and other debris to pull the group from the wreckage.
An investigation is ongoing.
