STARKVILLE, Miss. — A suspect is in custody after an active shooter was reported on the Mississippi State University campus Thursday, the school confirmed.
The school gave the “all clear” just before noon, with classes scheduled to resume at 2 p.m.
Mississippi State University campus was placed under lockdown around 11 a.m. after reports of an active shooter, but the school later tweeted from its emergency response account that no shots had been fired.
An alert from the school said the armed suspect was on campus near Lee Hall.
