NEW YORK — Rescue crews have recovered a body in the Hudson River that they believe is missing kayaker Ian Jones.

According to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s office, the body recovered Monday afternoon resembles the description of Ian Jones, 32, who was reported missing Saturday when his kayak flipped over.

Jones was kayaking with his girlfriend Tali Fruchtman, 22, the daughter of singer Annie Lennox, near Mills Mansion just south of Poughkeepsie.

Fruchtmann was rescued from the water by another boat. Neither of the two were wearing a life jacket.

Officials say they “strongly believe” the body recovered is Jones, but can’t confirm until an autopsy is performed Tuesday.
