Off-duty NYPD officer shot in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN — An off-duty NYPD officer was shot in the right arm in Brooklyn Tuesday evening, according to police.

The incident happened near 737 Bradford St. around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

It was not immediately known what happened before shots were fired. The unidentified officer may have been shot during an apparent carjacking, sources told the New York Daily News.

The officer drove himself to the hospital where he is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

NYPD is inspecting the officer's car for further evidence. There are no arrests at this time.
