MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Divers are scouring the Connecticut River looking for a 7-month-old boy they say was tossed into the river by his father.
Aaden Moreno, was reported missing Sunday night when his father, 22-year-old Tony Moreno, jumped from a bridge into the river. By Monday afternoon, police reclassified the search as a rescue mission.
Police say Moreno called a family member late Sunday, saying he would jump from the Arrigoni Bridge. That person contacted police and said a baby could be heard in the background.
WTIC reports that it was confirmed that Aaden entered the water and is presumed dead.
Moreno was pulled from the water by firefighters and is in stable condition. No charges have been filed at this time.
