GREAT NECK, N.Y.— The Long Island Rail Road says a woman suffered minor injuries after losing her balance and falling between the platform and a train car at a Long Island station.
Rail officials say she slipped under the train but was pulled out by MTA police.
It happened at the Great Neck station at about 5 p.m. Thursday.
Newsday says one witness described the woman as very petite. There was a crush of people getting off the train when the woman apparently misstepped and fell through the gap.
LIRR says she suffered bruising and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Service on the Port Washington branch was temporarily suspended, resulting in residual delays and a few cancellations during the evening rush.
