Move over, Bey and Jay. There’s a new celebrity power couple in town.
Jay Z and Beyonce have been long-touted for their earning power. But this year’s biggest surprise couple also gave Forbes followers quite the shock.
Mega-pop star Taylor Swift and her new beau, singer/songwriter/producer/DJ Calvin Harris, made a combined $146 million in 2014 due to Swift’s lucrative endorsement deals with Diet Coke, Keds and Sony and Harris’ deals with Giorgio Armani and Sol Republic headphones, Forbes reported.
Only two other couples made their way onto Forbes’ 2014 Celebrity 100, which tracks the world’s most powerful couples: Jay Z and Beyonce at a combined $110.5 million and Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton at a combined $57 million.
Hip-hop’s royal couple earned the bulk of their income from their co-headlined “On the Run” tour, which was the fifth-highest grossing tour of 2014, despite performing just 22 shows. Their endeavors are quite diverse, with Jay Z at the head of his entertainment company Roc Nation and involved with Armand de Brignac champagne and D’Usse cognac. Beyonce has her own fragrance line and endorsements with Pepsi, H&M and more.
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton brought in $28.5 million each in 2014 from their success in the music industry. Shelton also brought in cash from his gig as a judge of “The Voice” and Lambert has ventures with Red55 Wine, Pink Pistol and Dixie Darlin.
Swift and Calvin Harris are also the youngest of the three couples at 25 and 31 years old, respectively.
The Celebrity 100 list goes live Monday and, for the first time, will be ranking the world’s top-earning entertainers by annual income only.
Swift and Harris began dating earlier this year. Apple changed the terms of its music streaming app after Swift pulled her latest album from the service and criticized Apple in an open letter to her fans, saying it wasn’t fair that artists and labels wouldn’t be paid directly during the trial period.
