THEATER DISTRICT, Manhattan (PIX11) -- It was a case of life imitating art.
"It Shoulda Been You" is a Broadway show all about getting married.
This new musical is a culture clash about two families from wildly different backgrounds who ultimately come together to celebrate a wedding so one of the show's producer got an idea.
"Friends of mine from Connecticut saw the show and I knew they were getting married, so I suggested the get married at the show," Jane Bergere, one of the show's producers, told PIX11.
So after the matinee, 27-year-old Jordan Reuck got to live her dream, putting on a beautiful wedding dress and saying "I do" in a Broadway theater to the love of her life, 28-year-old Matt Harter.
"We saw the show and we kept thinking this is a lot like us," Harter, the groom told PIX11.
"When we were offered the chance to get married here, it's something you can't say no to," Jordan Reuck, the bride, said.
A performer all her life, Jordan said "this is my dream come true."
The groom's beaming parents looked on, dreaming about becoming grandparents in the not too distant future. The bride is expecting in July.
"It Shoulda Been You" is directed by David Hyde Pierce who had some advice for the newlyweds.
"See a lot of Broadway shows," and then Pierce added how touched he was that this show had inspired this wedding.
