FORDHAM HEIGHTS, The Bronx (PIX11) – Police are looking for the brazen gunman who shot and killed a young man near a Bronx public school Wednesday evening.

The body of the victim, 20, was found near the intersection of 193rd Street and Creston Avenue after police responded to an emergency call shortly before 10 p.m.

Both P.S. 246 and St. James Park are located steps from the crime scene.

The victim, who has not been identified pending family identification, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.  EMS workers rushed him to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A police investigation is ongoing.
