LIRR service on Far Rockaway line restored after train strikes car

VALLEY STREAM, Long Island (PIX11) — LIRR service on the Far Rockaway line has been restored after a train struck an unauthorized car on the tracks Friday afternoon.

Service was temporarily suspended in both directions are a train struck a car near the Gibson stop in Valley Stream at about 5 p.m.

The MTA says commuters should expect residual delays.
