WEST BRIGHTON, Staten Island (PIX11) — The NYPD is seeking two suspects who threw a 61-year-old woman to the ground in a violent attempt to steal her purseĀ in Staten Island on March 13.

The victim was on Castleton and North Mada Avenues in West Brighton around 8 a.m. when the suspects approached her from behind and punched and kicked her once she was on the ground while trying to grab her purse, police said.

The woman fought back and the suspects fled empty-handed. She was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for injuries on her face and knees.

Police described the suspects as two black males between 15 and 17 years old.
