BOISE, Idaho (PIX11) — Firefighters were surprised to find that the screams they heard coming from the inside of a burning home were coming from two parrots.

According to KBOI, firefighters in Idaho responded to a house fire in Boise, Idaho on Friday where they heard screaming for help. The screaming was coming from two parrots, who were trained to issue a warning.

"What was actually recorded was them saying fire, fire," Victor Islas of the Middletown Fire Department told KBOI. "That's what we got. 'Help. Fire.'"

No one was home other than the two parrots.

The birds were given oxygen and are expected to be okay.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
