NEW YORK (PIX11) — With NYC Animal Care and Control‘s new app, you can help give a furry friend a good home, right from your iPhone.

The app allows you to browse an up-to-date list of the 300 to 500 cats, dogs and rabbits that are up for adoption on any given day. You can also track your favorites, and share them through email, text, Facebook and Twitter from the app.

The app also allows you to talk to adoption staff directly about a specific animal.

NYC Animal Care and Control has centers in all give boroughs. They take in around 30,000 animals a year including homeless, abandoned, injured or sick small mammals, reptiles, birds, farm animals and wildlife.
